Grades Ballet

Step into the elegant world of Grades Ballet at AQ Dance Academy, where tradition meets excellence. Catering to students aged 6 and above, our program is deeply rooted in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, promising a comprehensive education in ballet techniques. Under the guidance of registered RAD instructors and led by AQ Principal Josephine Wang, who is also a RAD examiner, our students are poised for success. With a remarkable track record of achievements, including a consistent streak of High Merit, Distinction and High Distinction awards, AQ stands as a beacon of ballet education. AQ Dance incorporates the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Grades of One (1) through to Five (5) syllabus and delivers more technical aspects into every class. Our experienced Dance Instructors will be working with the students through a conducive environment. Students start to strengthen their core muscles and build Classical Ballet techniques. They also achieve the RAD Certification at the end of each Grade through the Annual Examinations.

The Grade One (1) to Five (5) classes will cultivate:

  • Strong Classical Ballet Posture
  • Increased Body Coordination and Awareness
  • Increased Spatial Awareness
  • Better Appreciation of Musical Rhythm and Tempo
  • Poise, Grace and Self Confidence
  • Globally Recognised Certification upon completion of the Annual Examinations

Each class is structured and catered towards the following:

  • Age Group – 7 Years Old and Above
  • Duration for Grade 1 and 2 – 60 Mins Per Class (Twice a Week Schedule)
  • Duration for Grade 3 and Grade 4 – 75 Mins Per Class (Twice a Week Schedule)
  • Duration for Grade 5 – 90 Mins Per Class (Twice a Week Schedule)

AQ Dance incorporates the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Grades of Six (6) through to Eight (8) syllabus into every class. The gradual continuation promotes the emphasis and strengthening of the technical ability of the students. There will be a greater focus on the Technical Performance and Artistry of Ballet. They also achieve the RAD Certification at the end of each Grade through the Annual Examinations.

The Grade Six (6) to Eight (8) classes will cultivate:

  • Stronger Technical Ability, including Posture, Line and Overall Coordination
  • Better Understanding of Performance Quality and Artistry
  • Better Understanding of Musical Phrasing, Tempo and Rhythm
  • Ability to Focus on finer Ballet details

Each class is structured and catered towards the following:

  • Age Group – 11 Years Old and Above
  • Duration – 90 Mins Per Class (Twice a Week Schedule)

At AQ Dance Academy, we treasure the boundless imagination of our youngest dancers and we inspire them with our Pre-School programs. Our Pre-School Ballet program, tailored for children aged 3 to 5, offers children’s ballet classes with a unique approach that captures the essence of early learning. With two devoted teachers per class, we guarantee personalised attention, ensuring each child’s developmental needs are met while building a solid ballet foundation and having fun at the same time!

  • Music & Movement (2020 cohort – 4 to 5 year olds) - Promoting to Pre-primary in April 2025
  • Saturdays 10:00am – 10:45am
  • Music & Movement (2021 cohort – 3.5 to 4.5 year olds)
  • Saturdays 3:15pm – 4:00pm
