Josephine started Classical Ballet training at the age of 6, and has fervently pursued this art form ever since. She has attained the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD – UK) Teaching Certificate with High Distinction, the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD – AUSTRALIA) Teaching Certificate, and a Diploma in Dance Education (UK).

Josephine started Ballet teaching during her University days. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she has since choreographed many pieces that have won awards at multiple Competitions and Public Examinations.

Her most recent work “Libertango” won her the “Best Choreography” Award at the 2015 RAD Dance Challenge. Her original and past choreographies of “Arc-en-ciel”, “Polka”, “Fleur”, “Cinderella” and many more have won numerous 1st prizes at various competitions in Singapore. Many of her past and current students have also won awards at various Competitions and Summer Schools.

Josephine is a strong believer of continuous learning. She has taken great efforts to expose her students to teachings of different reputable teachers, examiners and choreographers from all walks of life in order to train them into versatile dancers who are not just restricted to vocabulary within their own grades and dance form.

Other than her Ballet teaching qualifications, Josephine also holds a Master Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Civil).

Josephine is currently an Examiner with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). She is also a Supervisor and Tutor for the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) Program in Singapore and within the Southeast Asian region.

Josephine is an integral part and well respected member of the AQ Dance Family.
